Hugo Ortiz is a Molina Postdoctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an Assistant Professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador. He applies and develops geophysical methods to study volcanoes, the atmosphere, and other Earth processes that produce acoustic and/or seismic signatures. Hugo also enjoys trail running, biking, hiking steep slopes, gardening, and reading science fiction novels.
